ABOUT KYLIE
Kylie is an abstract artist from the Gold Coast.
Her abstract works look to capture the everyday Australian landscape in an emotive and textured manner.
"I specialise in medium to large scale mixed media abstract landscapes. I use lots of different mediums and heavy textures to bring out the best in my work. I love to showcase the more grittier, the more raw aspect of the Australian landscape. The actual geological formations of the land itself. To show the way land is after fire, drought, floods. The way my art feels to touch is also an important element to my work and one that is appreciated when viewing these artworks in person”.
Kylie’s works have been displayed in several ArtLovers Exhibitions, Gold Coast and Melbourne Galleries, and appeared in Grand Designs Australia Magazine 2022, as well as featured in ArtEdit Magazine 2022.
The Block 2023 - Last year, one of Kylie’s stunning big artworks was selected by Steph & Gian for their Master Bedroom reveal. This room went on to win Room of The Week with the public commenting it could very well be the best master bedroom in Block history. Steph & Gian went on to win Best House to secure a $50,000 prize as well as becoming the overall winners of The Block 2023. With the enormous win well over the reserve, Steph & Gian were also named as the biggest winners of all time, across all 19 seasons.

Kylie's creativity has always been at the forefront of her career choices.
She's always painted, yes, but before creating art became her main focus, she was a very well respected commerical radio announcer. Having worked on network stations and broadcasting to millions, Kylie's love of Country Rock music led her from a very short stint in community radio to rise very quickly to enter the big-time world of commerical radio.
Producing talkback radio for the likes of John Carroll, Carter Edwards, Gary Stewart on the 2HD/2SM network gave her the initial taste of radio and from there, she continued on her path to her very own breakfast show.
Kylie's love of music also landed her as the National Music Director of that same large network station that broadcast all over Australia.
Being a well-rounded and respected radio announcer afforded Kylie the opportunity to interview lots of incredible artists along the way.
International Artists, Eric Church, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker (aka Hootie & The Blowfish) UB40 and Dr Hook, just to name a few.
Kylie also got to interview some pretty famous Aussie artists as well. Names like, Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool, Mondo Rock) Lee Kernaghan, McClymonts, The Wolfe Brothers, Busby Marou, John Williamson, Adam Brand and a very special interview with Australian Icon Actor Jack Thompson.
Now, lets add photography to her portfolio as well....
Kylie has always been an avid photographer and her eye for detail has landed her lots of great opportunities for her photos to be seen and used by many artists. Aussie and International artists, including Canandian rockstar, Dean Brody using her images and dedicating a spot on his official website for her photos. Lee Kernaghan and Brandy also using her photos for the various media and promotional material.
Being the main radio announcer for a network station allowed her media passes into all the large country rock festivals. Notably, CMC Rocks The Hunter, CMC Rocks North Queensland and the biggest of them all in country rock, Gympie Music Muster. Boasting an attendance of over 100,000 people, Kylie MC'd the whole program on the main stage. Knowing her craft well made this an easy job for Kylie.
All this great knowledge and experience over the years of radio and photography led Kylie to something she is very passionate about, and that's creative writing. She approached BLANK Magazine on the Gold Coast and they happily accepted her as a feature writer. Having a full radio setup in her home made it easy to do recorded voice interviews with many successful artists and then transcribe them into print.
